IHANDMADE WOOD STRINGED INSTRUMENTS

I have been a musician for over 30 years and have noticed that some instruments are easier to play than others.  All of my instruments are unique in design, easier to play, and have an enhanced tonal spectrum.  The mandolins are totally redesigned.  As you can see, my mandolin peg heads have exquisite wildflower portraits in mother-of-pearl inlays.  

 In 2008, I modified the mandolin tail pieces for strength and aesthetic reasons.

I design and make violins, guitars and mandolins from traditional woods.  I began building guitars at the age of 16  with my brother at the Bellville/Hoffman Guitar Co. in Minneapolis.

 The peg heads on the mandolins have designs which are original and based on my inspirations and ideas.  The woodland wildflower series is essentially an inspiration while thinking of my mother.  She was really excited about the woodland and bog flowers.  She used to take us out to the end of the lake where the logs were floating in the bog and show us pitcher plants, sundew plants and Jack in the pulpits.  It was one of the delights of her life.
